IMPORTANT UPDATES
16th June 2024 - Private Flight Schools, SAAA Price Structure Adjustment, & Temporary Airspace Restriction
After a beta testing period with a few students, we have ironed out any potential issues we could find with the private flight school documentation and processes. To register a private flight school, you can check out the requirements detailed here. While we planned to have this license have no recurring cost, business licensing was not willing to make that severe of an exception from other licenses. It was instead agreed upon that the cost of $5,000 per month will be charged. We have also lowered the initial registration fee from $50,000 to $25,000. That being said, the commercial license price will remain at $50,000.
In conjunction with the launch of private flight schools, SAAA's flight school prices will be changing. You can see the new pricing structure here. Those who are eligible for a refund of the difference from the original prices will be reached out to in the coming days. Furthermore, flight school students will have a requirement to complete 1.5 hours of supervised flight practice between FTS-2 and 3, and between FTS-3 and 4. These required flight hours are provided by a private flight school or free of charge by SAAA.
Additionally, there will be a temporary airspace restriction above Sandy Shores Airfield on the 21st of June from 20:00 to 22:00. Pilots found in violation of this airspace restriction will be charged with AM08 - Violating a Restricted Airspace Order or Temporary Flight Restriction and will be investigated by the San Andreas Aviation Administration's AVAP division.
